Visit Federal Bank’s online platform to begin the Current Account opening process. The portal supports seamless digital onboarding for eligible customers. 

2. Select the Account Type

Choose the Current Account variant that suits your business—such as Freedom Current Account or Sweep Plus Current Account. These accounts offer digital banking, debit card benefits, cheque facilities and more.

3. Enter Details & Upload Documents

Fill in your personal, business and contact details. Upload PAN, Aadhaar and business proof in clear digital format (JPG/PNG/PDF). Only Individuals and Sole Proprietors can complete full onboarding online. 

4. Complete Digital Verification & Activate Account

Follow the online verification steps. Once verified, your Current Account is activated and you can start using digital banking services including Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, NEFT/RTGS/IMPS, email alerts and more.

Can I open a Current Account online?

Yes, you can open a Current Account online.

What documents are required?

For Individuals:

  • PAN and Aadhaar are mandatory.
  • If the customer has business proof, they may upload it as an additional document.

For Sole Proprietorship Accounts:

  • All documents required for individuals (PAN and Aadhaar), plus:
  • At least one valid business proof such as GSTIN, VAT, TIN, TAN, CST, SNEC, FSSAI, or IEC.
  • Note: Udyam alone will not be considered sufficient as the only business proof.

Who can open a Current Account?

Individuals and Sole-Proprietorship entities are eligible to open a Current Account.

Is interest paid on a Current Account?

Interest is not paid on standard Current Accounts. However, in a Sweep+ Current Account, the amount that exceeds the threshold is automatically swept out and converted into a Term Deposit (TD), on which interest is earned.
