Why Do Accounts Become Inoperative?

An Account may become Inoperative when there are no customer-initiated transactions, for a period of two years. This includes activities such as:

  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Fund transfers
  • Other customer-initiated transactions
  • Non-financial transactions, like balance enquiry, statement generation etc.

Accounts are classified as Inoperative as a security measure to help protect customers from unauthorised transactions and misuse. To keep your account active and enjoy uninterrupted banking services, ensure regular transactions and keep your KYC and contact details up to date.

Why should I reactivate my account?

  • Resume Banking Services: Access deposits, withdrawals, fund transfers, and other account facilities without restrictions.
  • Continue Your Banking Relationship: Keep your existing account active and maintain your banking history.
  • Stay Informed: Receive important account alerts, statements, and service updates on time.
  • Save Time and Effort: Reactivate your existing account easily without the need to open a new account.

How can I ensure my account remains active?

  • Transact Periodically: Make occasional deposits, withdrawals, or fund transfers.
  • Use the Account for Regular Payments: Link your account to utility bill payments or other recurring transactions.
  • Leverage Digital Banking: Use Fed Mobile or Net Banking for convenient account access and transactions.
  • Keep Your Details Updated: Ensure your KYC and contact information remain current to receive timely communications and alerts.
