Eligibility Criteria

FASTag Portability is currently available only if all the following conditions are met:

  1. FASTag must be in active status.
  2. Vehicle number should be updated for the tag.
  3. No active disputes should exist on the FASTag.
  4. Portability can be availed only once for a specific FASTag.
  5. Currently this functionality is enabled only for Vehicle Class 4 (VC4): (Car/Jeep/Van)

Issuer Bank Eligibility

  1. The existing FASTag issuer bank must be enabled for portability on the RajmargYatra platform.
  2. If your issuer bank is not currently listed, you may apply for a new Federal Bank FASTag instead.

Step-by-Step Guide to Port Your FASTag

Step 1: Open RajmargYatra App
Download/ Open the RajmargYatra App and select: One Tag → FASTag Porting

Step 2: Check Portability Eligibility

  1. Enter your vehicle registration number.
  2. The system will verify whether:
  3. The vehicle is eligible.
  4. The current issuer bank supports portability.

Step 3: Authenticate & Provide Consent

  1. Verify your registered mobile number through OTP.
  2. Review the portability request.
  3. Provide consent to initiate porting.

Step 4: Complete Federal Bank Onboarding

  1. Log in to: https://fastag.federalbank.co.in/
  2. Select: "Port FASTag from another Bank"

Step 5: Link Your Existing FASTag

  1. Enter vehicle details.
  2. Verify eligibility.
  3. Complete onboarding and linkage of your existing FASTag with Federal Bank.
  4. Pay ₹500 and get the full ₹500 credited to your FASTag wallet for toll payments.
  5. No issuance fee or security deposit. Your entire ₹500 becomes usable FASTag balance.

Step 6: Porting Confirmation

  1. Once the process is completed successfully, your existing FASTag will be migrated to Federal Bank and can thereafter be managed through Federal Bank's FASTag platform.

Key Points

  1. Existing wallet balance is not transferred during porting. Refunds, if any, must be claimed from the current issuer as per their process.
  2. Complete your porting request within 72 hours, or a fresh request will be required.
  3. Porting is available only between eligible banks listed in the RajmargYatra App.
  4. More banks are being added progressively to the FASTag Portability network.

You must complete the Federal Bank onboarding journey within 72 hours of providing consent on RajmargYatra.

  1. Log in to FedNet.
  2. Navigate to FASTag.
  3. Select FASTag Details.
  4. The available FASTag wallet balance will be displayed on the screen.

4. Through FASTag Customer Portal

  1. Log in to the FASTag Customer Portal.
  2. Navigate to the dashboard.
  3. View the available FASTag wallet balance displayed against the FASTag account.

5. Through Missed Call Facility

  1. Give a missed call to 9513234422 from your registered mobile number.
  2. You will receive an SMS containing the available FASTag wallet balance.

How to Replace your FASTag?

If your tag is lost or damaged, you can get a replacement tag in your same profile with the available balance. Apply for replacement tag using customer portal  -  https://fastag.federal.bank.in/ (Registered Tags → Replacement Tag)

How to complete KYV of your vehicle

  • Login to FASTag customer portal ( https://fastag.federal.bank.in/  → Registered Tags)
  • Select Update KYV  (Know Your Vehicle) and upload your vehicle front image (with tag affixed and Permanent Vehicle number visible), Vehicle side Image and image of FASTag affixed (with barcode number visible from driver seat).
  • Uploaded images will be verified and approved within 2 working days and the tag will be activated. In case of any urgent activation required, please let us know (through our FASTag support number or Email), we will get it done immediately.
  • Please ensure to upload correct and clear images to get your tag activated. In case of wrong or unclear images, KYV will be rejected, and you can submit the images again.
  • Ensuring Tag status before your travel is necessary for a hassle-free journey. You can check your tag status in our FASTag portal or in FedMobile or in NPCI official website or MyFASTag app powered by IHMCL.

How to Update VRN

If you have purchased your FASTag for your new vehicle, from one of our registered dealers, please update the vehicle number in our FASTag portal ( https://fastag.federal.bank.in/  → Registered Tags  → Update VRN) after you permanently register the vehicle with RTO. VRN needs to be updated within 90 days of tag issuance, failing which tag will have to closed as per guidelines.

 

What should one do when the vehicle is sold?

If your vehicle is sold, please ensure to surrender the FASTag to avoid any further deductions. You can surrender your FASTag using the customer portal https://fastag.federalbank.co.in/ → Registered Tags → Surrender Tag. Bank details of the tag holder should be submitted for the refund of the balance.
