Federal Bank announces shortlist for its Literary Award 2025

Federal Bank has announced the shortlisted entries of its much-awaited Federal Bank Sahitya Puraskaram 2025. The annual award that recognises works in Malayalam is into its fourth edition and has shortlisted five books this year.

The shortlisted books are:

  • Mathiyas – M R Vishnu Prasad
  • MT Vasudevan Nair - Dr. K Sreekumar
  • Mulberry - Benyamin
  • Pattunool Puzhu- S Hareesh
  • Tharkkitha Bhoothakalam- Vinil Paul

 

A three-member jury will decide the winner and the announcement and distribution of the award will happen on 23rd January 2026 during the Kerala Literature Festival scheduled to be held at Kozhikode from 22nd to 25th January 2026.

2024

Federal Bank Sahithya Puraskaram 2024

 

E Santhosh Kumar has been chosen for the Federal Bank Literary Award 2024 for his novel 'Thapomayiyude Achan'. The award was presented by Josemon P David, Vice President and Regional Head - Kozhikode of Federal Bank, along with a cheque of Rs 1 lakh cash prize at the Kerala Literature Festival, Kozhikode,.

The winner was chosen from five popular nominations by a jury comprising Benyamin, Fathima E V, and Rahul Radhakrishnan. Notable writer V J James presided over the event, and Bindu M, Deputy Vice President of Federal Bank, delivered the vote of thanks.

Sarah Joseph was chosen for the Federal Bank Literary Award 2023 for her novel Kara. In a function held at the Kerala Literature Festival at Kozhikode, the award was handed over by Nandakumar V, EVP & Head – Branch Banking of Federal Bank to Sangeetha Sreenivasan, daughter of Sarah Joseph. Regi C V, Kozhikode Zonal Head of the Bank handed over the prize money of Rupees One Lakh.

The best book was selected after a rigorous process of selection. 10 most popular nominations were evaluated by a judging committee comprising of Benyamin, Manoj Kuroor and E P Rajagopalan.
Notable writer K P Ramanunni presided over the function. Josemon P David, Head of the Kozhikode Region of the Bank delivered the welcome speech, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Shaji K V, Vice President of the Bank. 
Federal Bank has been contributing to the growth of Kerala State since its inception. The Bank is known for its social ethos through its various CSR activities across the State and across the country too. With the institution of this award last year, the Bank had ventured into the Malayalam literary world.  
Federal Bank which is scaling its journey from presence to prominence to dominance and is now scripting a unique story by leading the literature innovation.

Federal Bank proudly presents the Federal Bank Sahithya Puraskaram 2022, a recognition of outstanding literary achievements. Notable writer K Venu was honored with this prestigious award for his autobiography, Oranweshanathinte Kadha, during the esteemed Kerala Literature Festival held at Kozhikode.

The announcement of this esteemed award was made by Nandakumar V, EVP & Head – Branch Banking, and the award was presented by Balagopal Chandrasekhar, Chairman and Independent Director of the Bank. Mr. Chandrasekhar also delivered a thought-provoking keynote address, further enriching the literary spirit of the occasion.

The awardee was selected after a rigorous process of selection. 10 most popular nominations were sent to a judging committee comprising of KC Narayanan, PK Rajasekharan and Sunil P Ilayidom. Notable writer M Mukundan presided over the function. Mohanadas T S, DVP and Regional Head of Kozhikode Region delivered the welcome speech, and the vote of thanks was proposed by Josemon P David, DVP of the Bank.
